Maleficent is an upcoming live-action film that tells the story of the 1959 Disney film Sleeping Beauty from the point of view of villain, Maleficent (Angelina Jolie) . The film describes the events that led up to her cursing baby Aurora. It also stars Elle Fanning as Princess Aurora, and Jolie‘s daughter Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, as as young Princess Aurora. It hits theaters on July 2, 2014.

The much anticipated sequel to the hit Finding Nemo, Finding Dori, takes place one year after the first film, and focuses on Dori finding her family. Starring Ellen Degeneres as our favorite Pacific regal blue tang, the film also includes the original cast, Nemo and Marlin. It is scheduled for release on November 25, 2015.

Much like the hit Cars, Planes follows the adventures of a motley crew of planes. Dane Cook lends his voice to main plane Dusty, who the film revolves around. Dusty’s a tiny plane who yearns to stretch his wings and enter a prestigious around-the-world air race. Only thing is…he’s scared of heights. The film features the voices of Brad Garrett, Cedric the Entertainer, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, John Cleese and Sinbad, among others. It will be released August 9, 2013.

With the success of the first Muppets film, its no wonder there is going to be a sequel. This time, they’re caught up in a European jewel caper masterminded by a Kermit-lookalike. The cast includes comedians Ricky Gervais, Tina Fey, and Ty Burell. Cameos from Usher, Tom Hiddleston, Frank Langella, Danny Trejo, among others. Muppets hit the big screen on March 21, 2014.

Now that Disney has bought Star Wars, it is no surprise that we will be seeing a lot more movies. Star Wars: Episode VII is set to be directed by J.J. Abrams, and will star Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill. The film will be released in 2015.

Sequel to 2012′s The Avengers, The Avengers 2 will continue the saga of superheroes and follow them on their next adventures. As of now, a May 1, 2015 release date has been set for the film. Hopefully the original cast will resume their roles in the sequel, including Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans and Mark Ruffalo.

This animated tale tells the story of Anna, a fearless optimist with a Snow Queen for a sister. When the Snow Queen’s icy spell traps the entire kingdom in a lasting winter, Anna teams up with extreme mountain man Kristoff and his reindeer Sven to find and stop her sister. Frozen features the voices of Kristen Bell, Jonathan Groff, and Idina Menzel. The film comes out in theaters on November 27, 2013.

The Pirates of the Caribbean franchise has been one of the most popular, so it is no surprise that a 5th film is being made. The story focuses on Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp), as Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides did. As of now, the release date is set for July 10, 2015.

The ending of National Treasure: Book of Secrets left an opening for a third film, so naturally, there is going to be one. The franchise stars Nicolas Cage as Benjamin Franklin Gates, who solves hundred-year old historical mysteries with help from Diane Kruger and Justin Bartha. As of now, National Treasure 3 has been slated for release in 2014.
